of Hartley
Hartley is a metropolitan electorate located in Adelaide’s East, which contains the suburbs of Campbelltown, Paradise, Hectorville, Tranmere, Glynde, Magill, Felixstow and Dernancourt.
The Hartley electorate was created in 1976 after an electoral redistribution, with its namesake being derived from John Anderson Hartley. John Hartley was one of the most significant figures in South Australia’s educational history, and was involved with the founding of the Education Department as well as the University of Adelaide.
